Daily Programme

Cats are fed twice daily. In the mornings we feed with Royal Canin or Hills Science kibbles, (depending on discussions with you, the cat owner), and in the evenings we feed with kibbles and pouch food (Friskies Jelly). Kittens are fed more often, depending on their age – we keep Royal Canin special kitten kibbles. Fresh water is given each morning, then refreshed during the day and at bedtime. Should your cat need specialised food, you will need to bring this with you, with feeding instructions. Each unit is cleaned and tidied twice per day – morning and evening. Litter trays are changed every morning and the contents noted to check on the health of the cat. Litter trays are changed whenever necessary during the entire day. Each cat gets personal time at least once per day. During this time play/exercise is given. Each cat is brushed daily. Medications, when necessary, are given each morning (no injections!) Cleaning of eyes/ears/noses is done every day where necessary in the mornings. Full grooming is not undertaken by us but can be arranged.

Additional Care

Medications – a Special Requirements Form should be completed and returned to Cats Inn Sandton Cattery with the Admission Form should your cat require medications. Medications – eg Fortekor – will be given at no extra charge.

WE DO NOT DO INJECTIONS

  • Grooming – a Special Requirements Form should be completed and returned to Cats Inn Sandton Cattery should extra grooming be required. We will obtain a quotation for this and advise you accordingly.
  • Prescription Diets or Special Diets – should be brought in on delivery of your cat. Full instructions should be written up on a Special Requirements Form.
  • Eye, nose, and ear cleaning – a Special Requirements Form should be completed and returned to Cats Inn Sandton Cattery. Any special “equipment” required for these that you wish us to use must be brought in – no extra charge. Should your cat require veterinary attention whilst at Cats Inn Sandton Cattery you will be contacted; your cat could be either taken to your own vet, or to Rivonia Vet.

Wellbeing, Safety and Security

The following vaccinations must be up to date 14 days prior to your cat coming to board at Cats Inn Sandton Boarding Cattery 3:1 Rabies BB Intranasal spray

Note: all of these vaccinations must be given, including the bb. This is to ensure your cat’s safety and good health whilst in our care, as well as that of our other tenants. Copies of your cat’s vaccination certificates must be emailed to us 3 days prior to delivery.

Deworming and tick / flea treatment must be given 3 days prior to your cat coming to board at Cats Inn Sandton Boarding Cattery. Each unit is totally cleaned and sanitised after each cat’s departure and every 3 days during the cat’s stay. This means that the entire unit is washed down, then disinfected – ceiling, walls, floors! There are security corridors attached to each set of units, which are kept locked at all times. This ensures that no cat can become a runaway cat! Please deliver your cat in a carrier box. This is to ensure his safety – and yours – whilst traveling, as well as his safety in delivering him to his unit. If you do not have a carrier, please advise us and we can meet you at your car and transfer him to a carrier to deliver him to his unit. We have limited space to store carriers; should you wish us to store your cat carrier please ensure it is marked with your cat’s name. Collections and/or drop-offs can be arranged at an additional charge – discuss with us.
